solutions

Today, as I was watering my plants I started thinking about a multitude of ideas on how make this planet a better place.
The first idea that came to my head was a birth fund. Every American child gets $500 the day they are born. This money goes into a savings bond that accumulates interest until the child is 18. The bond will be distributed into secure securities whereby the market's ups and downs might only affect the interest slightly. When the child is 18 years of age, he or she will have the choice to use this money towards their education or housing. The funds for this money would be both state and federal taxes on tobacco, alcohol, firearms and 1 percent of property taxes. I believe that everybody in the United States should have an education if they choose to. In addition, I believe that everybody in the United States should have a form of housing or shelter.

The other idea that came to my head, while I was walking down the beach was to mass produce some of those new beach tents, that are collapsible to provide it to homeless. As I was walking in downtown, I saw people making their beds for the night, with card boards and plastics. I was thinking what would it cost a non profit organization, the government, the oil industry to provide such a cheap shelter yet studier than a box of cardboard. I know, this is just a bad aid to the real problem the United States faces. The ultimate goal would be to have zero homeless on our streets, to have sufficient housing and services whereby people do not fall into the cracks of services. Where services meet demand and resources are readily available to everybody, starting from preventive care.
